Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Next Chapter Skills Private Limited ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use nextchapterskills.com, ApplicantSpace, Project Vertex, or NextStep (together, the "Services"). It's written to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011.
1. What we collect
- Account information — name, email, phone number, and password when you sign up
- Content you submit — resumes, job descriptions, cover letters, code you write in Project Vertex, and career or skills information you give NextStep
- Assessment signals (Project Vertex only) — keystroke timing, compile events, and proctoring data during a session you take
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, device and browser type, and approximate location from IP address
- Cookies — see our Cookie Policy
2. How we use it
- To operate the Services — for example, to rewrite your resume against a job description, or score a Project Vertex session
- To maintain your account and communicate with you about the Services
- To detect fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service
- To improve our products, including evaluating how well AI-tailored outputs perform
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations
3. AI processing and third-party providers
Rewriting a resume, scoring a coding assessment, or generating a career readiness score involves passing relevant content to AI model providers and cloud infrastructure providers we've contracted with to process it on our behalf. These providers may be located outside India. We require them to handle your data under confidentiality and security obligations at least as strict as this policy. We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use your resume or assessment content to train models for anyone outside Next Chapter Skills.
4. Sharing
We don't share your personal data with third parties except: the service providers described above, when you explicitly export or send your content to a job board or employer, when required by law or a valid legal process, or as part of a merger or acquisition of Next Chapter Skills (with notice to you).
5. Retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. You can request deletion of your account and associated content at any time — see Section 6.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete your account and personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Withdraw consent for a specific use of your data, where processing is based on consent
Send requests to info@nextchapterskills.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
7. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our systems — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Services are meant for people 16 and older. If you're under 18, you should only use the Services with a parent or guardian's involvement. If we learn we've collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we'll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services change. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and where a change is material we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you directly.
